Job Description:
Drax Group plc, a pioneer in clean energy generation and
innovation in the UK, is seeking an Electrical/Instrumentation
Technician to join our Engineering & Maintenance team. This role is
crucial in optimizing our energy production capabilities, enhancing
system efficiencies, and sustaining our commitment to a zero-carbon
future. You will be immersed in a dynamic environment where your
expertise in electrical systems and instrumentation will drive
improvements and ensure the reliable operation of our power
generation facilities. Perform routine and emergency maintenance on
electrical and instrumentation equipment to ensure minimal
disruption to plant operations. Install, calibrate, and
troubleshoot instrumentation devices and electrical equipment
following strict safety protocols. Collaborate with operations and
engineering teams to optimize plant efficiency and reliability.
Conduct periodic inspections and diagnosing systems for improvement
opportunities. Assist in the development and updating of system
documentation and maintenance logs. Support project implementations
including commissioning and decommissioning of equipment. Provide
technical support and training to other team members and
stakeholders. Proficient in the use and interpretation of
electrical schematics and instrumentation diagrams. Strong
understanding of PLC programming and troubleshooting. Experience
with voltage systems, electronic monitoring, and control systems.
Ability to problem-solve in fast-paced and complex environments.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Familiarity with
health and safety regulations in the energy sector. Medical

Certification in Electrical Installation (City & Guilds, NVQ, or
equivalent). Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) preferred.
HVAC certification advantageous in some roles.
