Low Voltage Technician - High Travel - Federal
TeamExperience:
--- MINIMUM 3 years of work experience in structured cabling and
data center experience. Ability to understand and effectively
explain every aspect of the structured cabling system including
pathways, spaces, horizontal cabling, backbone copper, backbone
fiber optic, cross- and inter-connections, and testing. This
includes understanding applicable codes, standards, and
industry-best practices and the ability to differentiate between
them and make recommendations.
--- Access/Security/Low Voltage: 3 years (Prefer)We provide
Security Alarm, Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, and Nurse Call
services in addition to installation, maintenance, leasing and
monitoring for both federal and commercial customers
nationwide.
--- Experience with and ability to diagnose fire alarm system
issues and to maintain, adjust repair, and replace a variety of
fire alarms and related components.
--- Experience developing written work plans, job hazard analysis,
and job safety analysis related to the work activities under a
permit to work system.
--- Possess prior computer experience and be able and willing to
learn and effectively utilize computer-based labor, inventory, and
maintenance tracking applications.
--- MUST be able to hit the ground running, ability to work with
minimal supervisionSkills:
--- Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Suite
programs
--- Excellent time management skills
--- Aptitude for problem solving
--- Ability to work well independently or in a team environment
--- Exhibit a positive attitude
--- Ability to workdays, nights and/or weekends when required
--- Willingness to be on-call after hours
--- Project management skills
--- Basic networking
--- GSM technology, and interactive apps for DVRs and alarm
systems
--- Knowledge of current NFPA and fire alarm codes
--- Installation of numerous different brands of Security, Fire and
Access Control Systems
--- Read, write, and understand English
--- Able to distinguish color codes
