Alpine is seeking a Production Leader to join the team in our Pontotoc, MS facility. In this role, you will lead production in the operation of press machinery as well as steel material handling to quality specifications in an efficient and safe manner.

Core Responsibilities

• Ensure safe operating practices and behaviors throughout team
• Lead safety initiatives such as training, audits/observations, and accident investigation/reporting
• Understand operating principles of machinery and machine control mechanisms
• Deploy proper resources requiring operator activities on equipment including setup, assemble, disassemble, operate, changeover, remove, turn, replace, adjust, service, and basic maintenance as needed to support production
• Perform all quality checks according to SOPs and quality specification sheets
• Coordinate training of temporaries and machine operators
• Use D365 scheduling system to enact decisions to plan shift run schedule and make necessary adjustments to meet customer and inventory shortages
• Track machine downtime per shift and produce necessary reports
• Lead and motivate team setting professional standards of conduct in all areas of performance
• This position may be assigned other duties as needed to support plant and to meet customer needs
  Job Requirements
  
  • Willing to work overtime as needed
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial related experience
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Prior leadership experience in a team environment or first line supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a continuous improvement setting
  • Utilize practical problem solving to identify the root cause of problems.
  • Basic computer proficiency, especially in use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word applications
  • Forklift certification
  • Proficiency in using system scheduling tools, i.e. Enterprise Resource Planning systems
    Qualifications
    
    • Three to five years' experience in a manufacturing environment with two years Supervisory experience. Associate degree or equivalent preferred, or two to four years related experience.
    • Experience in OSHA regulations and participative safety program culture
    • Leadership experience in an empowered work team environment
    • Disciplined self-starter with strong organizational skills
    • Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
    • Previous work experience with a ERP system preferred but not required
    • Possess strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to use basic machine shop equipment, hand tools, forklift and material handling equipment
    • Utilize practical problem solving to identify the root cause of problems
    • Previous forklift experience a plus
    • Must be able to work 2nd shift hours and overtime as required.
