Description
We are currently looking for a Full Time Groundskeeper II to join
our Homeland Affairs Preservation team located at the Chickasaw
Preserve working .
*Summary:*
The role of the groundskeeper II is to conduct the maintenance,
preservation, conservation and general care and operations of
historic sites managed by the Chickasaw Nation. Maintain respect
for the sites by protecting cultural, archaeological and natural
resources located within site boundaries, while performing
necessary and routine maintenance. Assist with the beautification
and safety of sites for visitors to experience and learn about
Chickasaw history and culture.

* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations,
policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital
standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles,
etc.
* Be familiar with the cultural and natural resource management
plan of all historic sites managed in the Homeland and assist the
historic site coordinator in carrying out these plans
* Independently, conduct periodic rounds of historic sites in the
Homeland to check for the security of structures, contents, gates
and fences while remaining observant for public safety
* Provide historic site coordinator with reports on the conditions
of historic sites, assist in the development of new projects, and
recommend preventative preservation and groundskeeping tasks
* Assure and confirm visitors of historic sites have written
permission, have signed liability release waivers and agree to
follow the rules of the properties
* Preserve physical appearance of designated areas through mowing,
trail maintenance, tree removal, protected plant maintenance, and
high tunnel maintenance while leaving protected areas
undisturbed
* Properly maintain, repair and store landscaping tools and
equipment per approved procedures
* Assist the historic site coordinator with the research, care and
protection of natural resources
* Assist the historic site coordinator with the training of
groundskeeper I positions to familiarize new employees with
historic sites, management plans and proper use of equipment
* As assigned, drive tour groups to designated sites in a shuttle
bus
* Proactively performs building maintenance, carpentry, and grounds
keeping duties
* Attends all required in-service training, school, required
meetings and training as well as any other required meetings
* Performs all other duties as assigned
