To assist in the management of the front reception area and
directly supervise two support staff. To be the primary contact for
the athletic department to help counsel athletes regarding
financial aid and manage resources awarded athletes receiving
financial aid. To assist the Associate Director as assigned.
Salary Grade: 14

salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary
ranges are determined by the hiring department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage front reception area to ensure accurate processing of
financial aid documents, to make sure phone calls and emails are
answered in a prompt and courteous manner and to provide the
highest level of customer service to walk-ins as the first contacts
to the department of financial aid.
Post athletic student's resources received from the athletic
departments to make sure financial aid awards are properly adjusted
and awarded. Post Opportunity Fund amounts received by athletes and
approve the Opportunity Fund payments on SEC Opportunity Fund
Review financial aid information, including electronic data and
reports, to determine federal aid eligibility of student
applicants. Award federal aid to eligible students.
Counsel students and parents concerning the availability of
state, federal, and institutional student financial assistance
Keep abreast of the state, federal, and institutional rules and
regulations applicable to the awarding of aid to eligible
Responsible for managing specific aid programs and or processes
as assigned by the Associate Director of the Counseling Area.
Assists in the development and revision of procedures for the
documentation and review of data contained in student files.
Provides student financial aid presentations for student groups or
functions sponsored by high schools and community college, and
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and at least 3 to 5 years of business related
Master's Degree and additional years of Financial Aid experience
beyond the minimum.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to effectively communicate with students and staff
members with a high degree of professionalism.
Ability to understand and apply financial aid criteria.
Strong attention to detail and understand the importance of
- Experience working with individuals from diverse cultures,
languages, and ethnic backgrounds.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
- No or very limited physical effort required.
- Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking,
hearing, handling objects with hands.
