JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Physician Pediatric Hospitalist • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Oxford, MS • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical Call • Coverage Period: 06/05 30/2026 • Clinical Shift Schedule: Flexible Schedule COVERAGE DATES • 06/05 30/2026 PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Pediatrics • Patient Volume/Census: Inpatient service to 24 patients over the past 24 months (minimum experience requirement) • Admissions: Yes • Rounding: Included • Phone Consults: Yes • Case Mix: Pediatric Hospitalist • Reason for Coverage: Coverage for Full-Time Vacancy PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Standard Pediatric Hospitalist procedures JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Mississippi license • Board: Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics or American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics within 5 years post-residency • DEA: Active DEA Certification • Certifications: PALS & NRP required • Experience: Inpatient service to 24 patients within the past 24 months • Other Qualifications: MD degree required; three peer references (one from residency director or Chief of Medicine/Pediatrics, two from PCPs familiar with applicant's work) DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide inpatient pediatric care and manage hospital admissions • Perform pediatric medical evaluations and treatment plans • Coordinate with nursing and specialty staff as needed • Participate in on-call coverage as scheduled • Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and comply with hospital standards
