Job Description:
Drax Group plc, a pioneer in the UK energy sector, is seeking an
experienced Electrical/Instrumentation Technician to join our
dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficiency,
reliability, and safety of our electrical and instrumentation
systems, as we steer towards a zero carbon, cost-effective energy
future. The ideal candidate will engage in both proactive and
reactive maintenance and enhancements of our electrical systems.
Diagnose and repair electrical problems in commercial and
industrial electrical systems, including fault-finding, rewiring,
and monitoring. Perform routine maintenance and testing on
commercial and industrial electrical systems, and ensure
installations are to manufacturer standards, including fire alarms
and security systems. Install new electrical components and
systems, ensuring full compliance with safety standards and
regulatory requirements. Inspect, maintain, calibrate, adjust, and
repair instrument equipment to optimize facility operations.
Interpret and work from technical diagrams, blueprints, and
instructions. Collaborate with operational teams to identify and
implement energy-saving opportunities and enhancements. Generate
and preserve accurate maintenance documentation and system logs.
Adhere to workplace safety protocols and standards in all
maintenance and repair efforts. Expertise in electrical, pneumatic,
and digital systems. Experience in using electrical diagnostic
equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and calibration
tools. Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
Proficiency in reading and understanding technical schematics and
blueprints. Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of mechanical aptitude.

401k Certified Instrumentation Technician (CIT) or equivalent
professional certification is highly desired. 17th or 18th Edition
Wiring Regulations certification.
