Job Description:

Child Development Center WorkerBasic Responsibilities:

  • Maintain safe and healthy environment
  • Help children form secure relationships with adults.
  • Assist in the center complying with all requirements per MSDH Child Care Regulations
  • Serve as floater to help cover any area needed
  • Use a wide range of teaching methods (curriculum, stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing etc) to enhance the child's abilities
  • Support and abide by the center's code of ethical conduct.
  • Complete at least 15 contact hours yearly for licensure.
  • Maintain proper room arrangement and clean room (sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, etc.).
  • With experience, substitute in absence of other staff
  • Send home daily notes on all children (discussing things did throughout the day).
  • Establish positive and productive relationships with parents.
  • Clean facility in absence of custodianMinimum Qualifications
    • Must have strong communication skills, be patient, willing to take direction, and work hard
    • Must be a minimum of 18 years old
    • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
    • Mississippi immunization 121 form/records required
    • Experience in an early childhood setting or with toddler and preschool aged children required.
    • Prior experience with licensed childcare or educational program preferred
    • Background checks and state health and safety training required when hired.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $8.00 per hourSchedule:
