communities. We are hiring debris monitors near Ouachita Parish, LA
to aid in the cleanup of damage caused by Winter Storm Fern . The
schedule for this position will be 7 days/week, 12 hours/day. The
hourly rate is $15. Paychecks will be issued bi-weekly. This is a
temporary assignment. No experience is required, training will be
provided to you. Relocation assistance and lodging are not provided
for this position. What you’ll be doing: Report to assigned staging
area Receive your materials/supplies/equipment/information Attend
safety & operations meeting Monitor and observe all loading
activities Make sure Contractors pick up all eligible storm-related
debris Observe surroundings for possible hazards Fill out Load
Tickets completely and accurately Record any damages caused by a
Contractor What you need to have: Valid driver's license (not
suspended), MVR must be cleared before you can begin work Cell
phone to be contacted throughout assignment Reliable transportation
for driving to various locations High School Diploma or equivalent
Basic math skills - measurements (weight, volume, and distance)
Attention to detail Ability to speak and read English fluently
Ability to use handheld electronic devices (digital camera, GPS
unit) with minimal oversight Ability to pass a pre-employment drug
screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert
adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for
substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations
may differ from state-specific guidelines. Valid driver's license.
A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR). Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 30lbs at times Prolonged
periods of standing and walking, slippery conditions due to walking
on riverbanks Ability to work 10 to 14-hour days up to 7 days a
week Be able to climb staircases and ladders at least 10 feet Be
able to work outdoors in all types of weather as required Ability
to withstand constant exposure to outside elements Able to work
while wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
