Job Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Radiology
Secretary:
- This position receives incoming visitors in a positive and
courteous manner; and arrives into Radiology information systems
patient orders to assure accurate exams ordered by physicians.
- Coordinates patient daily schedules with inpatients, surgeries,
and emergencies.
- Checks for adequate patient preps and diagnosis vs order before
exams.Liaison:
- Serves as a liaison between staff, physicians, patients, and
family members to ensure effective communication/interaction
- Ensures high quality health care is delivered at the West Point
Facility and Radiology department by effectively interacting and
cooperating with providersTraining of Staff:
- SCM -Patient information system for correct Radiology and
Cardiology orders and charges
- HRM- correct Radiology requisitions, related charges, and
available report logsRegulation:
- Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
- Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal
policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Health Information (HI)
Document/Record Preparation:
- Prep, check and prepare medical records to be scanned and
stored electronicallyImage Scanning:
- Accurately scans records/documents into the database (Sunrise
Record Manager)
- Ensures that all records/documents are scanned in a timely and
efficient mannerDocument Record Index:
- Prepares, scans, and checks medical records for accuracy and
quality (as needed)
- Effectively assures that all indexed records/documents meet
applicable Regulatory Agency requirementsService:
- Attends, demonstrates and participates in required in-services,
performance improvement activities (excluding EXCEL) and other
education programs. Performs other duties as assigned while
demonstrating willingness, ability and team spirit to provide
optimal customer satisfaction.Requirements:
JOB KNOWLEDGE
- A high school graduate or GED preferred. Prior experience in a
medical ancillary field is highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; required
- A working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Must be able to operate a personal computer, typing skills and
manual dexterity, enter patient data timely and accurately, possess
basic mathematical skills.
